Dry Charged Batteries

A battery that comes DRY CHARGED will last indefinitely as long as the seals
have not been knocked out. Dry Charged means that the sulphuric acid has
NOT been poured into the cells until it is ready for use. When you buy or
use the acid, it comes already charged with a specific gravity of at least
1225 or better. When you fill each cell, the battery is ready for use and
very seldom ever needs charging as it is already "hot" and ready to go. I
bought some dry charged M151 batteries from Star Electric a while back while
he has them. These are the original gov't batteries and will save them for
future use in case they become unavailable. You can buy the acid from
almost any auto supply store and a dry charged battery is the way to go for
these products that are not fast movers. When you buy one of these
batteries, acid should come with it but not always. It is usually cheaper
if it does and may be a littly pricey if you find it on your own therefore;
your battery may not be a "real" deal after all! Julian Burke
