I don't have the date in front of me, but in the post Desert Storm era, the
black markings were painted on sand colored patches on the bumpers (is it
possible that the white patches you recall were in fact tan?).

Black on green began with the four color camo scheme about August 1975.

The markings on the bumper are slightly different in the camo scheme than in
the 24087 scheme. What exactly do you want to know?
