FYI .........
While at Ft Hood a few weeks ago picking up a couple of trucks, I noticed
there were some really nice M35's out there. Lots of junk, but there were a
bunch of really clean trucks.
I asked the GL guy about them and if he knew when they would be up for
auction. He took a look and told me that all of the ones I was checking out
were being shipped to Morocco. I was told this guy from Morocco just walked
around with some Colonel and picked the trucks he wanted. And let me tell
you, he was picking the cream of the crop. Lots of winch trucks, dammed near
all of the winch trucks were going over there. I could tell because there was
a "MOR" written on the inventory tag in black marker.
The trucks that he wasn't selecting were shop vans and residue trucks.
We are talking about demil codes right now.....I wonder if it would do any
good to take a stand on the way "our" trucks are being given away to foreign
countries like this. I know we have be giving stuff away to these third world
countries for years, but now I see how it affects us. I sure think that we
should have first shot at buying these trucks, before we give them away.
