Joe,
Just a thought: was your truck parked for an extended time? A
possibility just occurred to me; the wheel cylinder pistons may be siezed
in the cylinder bore. Happened to my DUKW. I had to replace all six
wheel cylinders. The pistons were stuck so tight I couldn't knock them
out with a hammer and drift punch.
This condition would certainly account for a " hard " brake pedal and
poor stopping response.
