How To Tell If Diesel Is "Missing" On Any Cylinders?

Hi List...

I was wondering tonight how you go about checking to see that each
cylinder is firing on a diesel, for example a CUCV or M35.

On a gasser, you would just pull a spark plug wire and read the RPM
drop or listen to the change in the engine's sound.

But how do you do this on a diesel?

Thanks!
