I used a shovel (not sure what the military term for that is) to dig
until the front wheels moved the 2 feet to the ground.

Joe, I know of at least three terms we used for "shovel" and the like in
the Seabees:

1>Pioneer tools (You already knew that one)
2>Pine-handled front-end loader
3>SLERD (Single Lever Earth Relocation Device)
