I think that is the best idea I've heard in a long time. Don't know how to
organize such a thing, but let's all get thinking. These trucks can do a
whole lot - and in times of disaster (which is relative to where you're at,
as Joe so rightly stated) or even just bad times or weather, why couldn't
they help? I wish my deuce had been down in Newport News helping in the
flood - not for glory, but to help....isn't that what it's supposed to be
about?

Come on list, let's get some ideas on how to organize this. Who to call,
etc. I'm open to any ideas - anybody got any? I'm ready to work - but
point me in the right direction!

My .02 anyway,

I have been wondering about something and this seems like a good time to
ask. Has anyone on the list with a modern MV (post ww2) ever volunteered
with the red cross or some other organization to assist in times of
disaster. Around here (SC) they are always looking for people with "four
wheel drive" vehicles to help when there is bad weather. Here in SC bad
weather often consist of 1/4" of snow (you northern fellows can stop
laughing now). I was even wondering if anybody uses a snow plow on they're
deuce. We don't have allot snow clearing trucks here and when we do get
any
amount of snow it takes several days for the state to clear secondary
roads.
I enjoy helping people in need and was just wondering if any of you know of
any organizations other than the red cross that might be the least bit
interested a 6 wheel drive truck with the payload rating of a deuce.
