Neil & list,

The best and neatest mule I ever rebuilt was a A4 with upgrade kit (elec.
start, charging, fenders, wide wheels, etc.) as done by USArmy. This mule
belongs to a friend and co-worker. On the front bed frame under where the
pull rope was I found:
                                      2/504 (504 would be
Infantry)
                                       82 ABN
on the fuel tank was a black star and: ________________________

The 2 largest users of the mule, with upgrade kit, was 101 ABN and 82 ABN.
These were used with and without TOW launchers. They discontinued use of the
mule about mid 80's.
Tennessee State Parks picked up dozens of these from surplus. Most of what I
have worked on came from TSP.

Not much to go on but I hope this helps.
