List:

I just wanted to share with all of you the wonderful MV road trip that
my gal pal, my son, and I just came home from last night.

We drove a rental vehicle (2002 Jeep Liberty) from Lawrence, Kansas to
the Boise Idaho area, and picked up a cherry, sweet, dent and rust free
1986 M1009, hereafter known as "Princess", complete with fully
functional RT 524 and an additional receive only radio unit. (Drool, now
to get my HAM license) (I would appreciate some help on this subject off
list from fellow Kansan / MV lover /MVPA activist Dave Brubaker on this
subject.)

Driving back, in two days, we had the cruise set on 75-80 on the rental,
with the CUCV tucked right in behind, and walkie-talkies for comm. Temps
ranged from 21 with 11 wind chill in Laramie Wyo, where we slept over,
to 60s during the day. Princess pulled through the Rockies and the
Continental Divide like she was just waiting for us to throw her
something challenging her way.

Not one single hitch, nor a glitch, didn't even use any oil. Not bad
for a 6.2 with 70k+ on the ticker. Used a tank and a half of diesel for
a nearly 1500 mile trip. This was the best vacation I have had in at
least a decade, beautiful scenery, my loved ones, and a quality MV, and
since it is totally on-subject, I thought I would share it with folks
who can appreciate it.

My very best regards to you and yours,

T. "Bones" Morris
