Subject: [MV] CHARLES (GUNNY) CAREY

Folks ..a very long time friend and valued Military Vehicle Owner..Charles
Carey passed away this week. Charlie landed at Tarawa and was wounded by a
nice little guy in the jungles there. He was at the time 16 years old..!!
After getting to the aid station..and off to recovery..he was given the
choice of discharge or stay in.. (he was by now 17)..he opted to stay in
..and - after serving in Korea and Vietnam..he retired from the US Marines.
Charlie was awarded "2" Purple Hearts and the Silver Star. After his Marine
Corps retirement he went to work for the Sheriff's Department in Ft Worth,
Texas....retiring from there. "Gunny" was a great friend..and will be very
much missed. Gene
