I guess my question on the Air-O-Matic is how much does it cost and is the
cost vs. benefit worth it?

Subject: [MV] deuce power steering

Someone on the List asked about Air-O-Matic and 5-ton power steering
units and if the 5-ton unit could be installed on a M35A2. I have the
Air-O-Matic system on my deuce and I love it. Doesn't steer as easy as the
Ross unit on
some 5-ton trucks, but it sure is a great assist when moving slow or not
moving the truck at all. Installation went fine, the only problem I had was
installing the barbed air fittings in the end of the air lines. I finally
wound up
putting the lines in a vise, with maybe about and inch or so of it extended
above the jaws, lube the line and fitting with spray can silicone and tap
the
fitting in with a rubber mallet. A 3/4" air impact wrench made removing the
two u-bolts easy, but a cutting torch will work if you don't want to save
them.
