There's guy on the unimog list, Jack Russell, that has forgetten more about
Unimogs than most people will ever know. It was probably a variant of the
416. To be sure post the question on the mog list at
http://www.tx4x4.com/mog.html, or check their archives at
http://l1-a.net/uni/search.html.

Subject: [MV] Unimog question

The first Unimog I ever saw was in the late 70's. A friend I went to high
school with had a job with Asplundh (the tree trimming company). Asplundh
had a contract with the Tennessee Valley Authority to spray powerlines in
middle TN. The truck he was using was a 4x4, diesel, Unimog with huge tires
and a very large winch on front. ...
Anyone know what model it could have been? Or have any info.
on Asplundh or other contractors that use the Unimog in such an application.
Now I think TVA does most of the spraying with helicopter.

Thanks,
Keith
