On the video that was sent, it started out with the trip to survey the A/C.
To get there, they had a UH-1C. The flew the huey fully loaded, the 3rd
pasenger laying on the gear and he was at the ceiling. The video showed the
huey straining to get in the air with the load. The 3rd memeber had to stay
behind so the huey could fly. It then show them making a makeshift runway
for a Dehaviland Carabou........Which blows a cylinder at the B-29
site..........this is when that mech gets sick.
Anyway at one part they show the airplane partially in the water. With the
shore line infront of them. They used the huey to put weight on the
horizontal and weight the tail down to lift the nose to get it out of the
water. SAD. Once on land they took a barrel of fuel and a hose and
hooked it to the carb of the #4 Engine. They proceded to start it. With
all 4 blades being bent and in a out of balance conditon, what were they
trying to prove????? They eventually got a few cylinders firing and it
idle'd rather crudly..........................It just left me with a knot in
my stomach.
Jeff.............................
