Farm Supply stores sell a gadget that works great to cover end of vertical
exhaust, it clamps around end of pipe and has a weighted flap that if engine
is not running will close and cover end. When engine is running exhaust
keeps it open. This will not work on any pipes that are not flat on top.
Bjorn's suggestion about putting can over end works great also, and if you
will use a long can you will not have to secure it with a strap -- and when
you forget to take it off it will take itself off. Then you have to get new
can for it will fly somewhere you cannot find it.
