The girl was "Connie Rodd"....from the US Army's "PS" Magazine. I'll check as
to when the "Something Wrong" page appeared.
The other characters appearing in PS were "Sgt.Half-Mast", "Windy Windsock",
"Bonnie" "Joe Dope" (in the very early issues of PS) and "Macon Sparks".
These were regular characters, others were usually one-off appearances.
