Yup! There is faithful reproductions to original specifications, and
then there is being dumber than dirt :-) The ME 262 had many flaws in
its design and/or production due to the rushed nature of its production,
material shortages, and of course manufacturing difficulties due to
bombings. The engines, for example, had a life measured in hours due to
them not having the alloys necessary to withstand continued use. I am
sure these guys didn't duplicate the serious flaws of the original like
this and the landing gear. Sounds like a typical prototype problem. It
is amazing that something like this flies in the first place, not that
its landing gear screwed up. Murphy is an unkind bastard :-)
