Hi
The preferred way is not to have any adapters at all and use either the old
or new style slave cable as needed. You can find as has been said the
adapters easily to convert the new cables to the old 2 pin receptacle. The
other adapter you mention to convert old 2 pin cables to new NATO style
receptacles are rare if even able to be found. IMO if you are always going
to be using only the old 2 pin style vehicle recepacles buy a old style 2
pin cable set. But if you want to be able to use the cables on all the gear
out there, get a new NATO style slave cable and a pair of adapters to go to
the old style 2 pin plugs. Then you will have the better made heavier duty
NATO cables and using your 2pin adapters you can hook up to any military
equipment.
