Hi Tom, I am installing a Gov. rebuilt LD-465-1A engine in my M35. While
comparing the engine to the LDT-465-1C engine I am removing. I see, I will
have to swap out the oil pan, oil pump pickup, flywheel, clutch & pressure
plate, starter, & flywheel bellhousing. Anyway, I noticed it has a gear
driven power steering pump on the front of the engine I think I can leave it
in place if I make some modifications to the radiator fan shroud. There was
a tag hanging on the pump that indicates it's output pressure is 1500lb. Do
you think this pump is suitable? I know there is an old style and a new
style type of steering system on the 5 ton trucks. Would one of these
systems work on the M35?
Which is the type I would need the parts from for your type of system?
Any chance you could take some photos of the setup on one of your trucks?
Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Bill Prestin

P.S. I am envious of your "Super M35" but am working hard to upgrade mine.
