There is sometimes an anomoly when the "Magic Smoke"
escapes and it still works. When this happens, it is
normally still operational due to "FM". I've seen
this happen to x-ray units on occasion.

OK a little secret from an Electrical Engineer:

All electric/electronic devices run with something
we in the industry refer to as: "Magic Smoke"

If you have a device and the "Magic Smoke" escapes,
if will most likely fail to operate.

So this begs the question: Did any "Magic Smoke"
escape? And, were you successful in capturing it and
forcing it back it...?
