First Deuce Ride

Finally got some time and decent weather and was able to pay some attention to
my "new" M35A2. A 3 mile jaunt through the neighborhood was very enjoyable!

Many thanks to the list members for pointing me in the right direction
regarding a lack of brakes. Apparently someone had scavenged the brake light
switch from the front of the brake booster, leaving a gaping hole in the
system. They were kind enough to shove a rag between the guard and the booster
but it really wasn't quite enough to contain the fluid. A bolt now serves to
stop the flow until I locate a replacement switch.

Thanks also to the list members who suggested Saturn Surplus
(www.saturnsurplus.com) in Millersburg, PA. I needed a replacement tire and
wheel for this truck. The folks at Saturn Surplus were extremely helpful,
friendly (rare in Central PA), and priced right.

Overall I'm impressed with the truck so far, given the low cost of acquisition
via GL. While I project that I'll triple the initial investment to get it into
top condition, I'll still fall under the average advertised price for a
runner.
