The reality of all this is as follows. Shock absorbers don't absorb shock.
That's the job of the spring. The shock actually dampens and reduces the
rate of travel of the spring as it absorbs shock. Shocks would no doubt help
but in my experience with my truck, they aren't needed. Might be helpful
controlling wheel hop on soft surfaces. Who's going to be the first one with
shocks on the back of their deuce?
