Not everything old was good ...but that old mineral oil that has run
hundreds of millions of miles in transmissions and differentials and
gear boxes was good...but now I guess it sucks. I guess its a good thing
that the older generation didn't know it was only good for lightly
loaded gearboxes. It was the only thing available till probably the 80s
or 90s. It was so good that I was in a junkyard once and someone had
taken the back plate off of an old differential and an old junkyard dog
was drinking it. Sorry Dave...I couldn't resist...but all are probably
glad to hear about the MT-1 specification...thanks. Do you reckon the
MT-1 spec was so that we would empty one (pun) of their cans? Fred Martin
