Hi Rick,
I used a glass inline fuel filter for my F250 for years and I highly recomend them.
Don't know the name off hand but they consisted of the following:
2 metal end pieces where you attached the rubber hose link.
A pyrex ? cylinder,
A cleanable or replaceable filter screen.
2 O rings.
One of the metal ends has a perforated tube on it that screws into the other metal end.
The replaceable filter screen is a cylinder that fits over the perforated tube.
The O rings but up against the ends of the glass cylinder.
Fuel comes in one end flows thru the perforated cylinder, then thru the filter screen, then
out the other end piece.
This allows you to see if you have any junk in the line and when to clean or replace the filter elements.
A mechanic turned me on to this and I think they are great. Refills are available in most auto parts stores.
You may have to hunt around for one, but it is worth it.
