I Really Had To Know

Hello, Hopefully final update on this 1939
Ford Military Ambulance.
If you don't recall, I have been tracking down
its provenance for five years.
This list has been instrumental in helping me
understand what I own.
I uncovered "115" years ago on passenger door. Unfortunately I
assumed it was the 115th
Quartermaster Rgt, 40th Division, CAL. National Guard.
It was, in fact, the 115th MEDICAL Rgt, 40th
Diviision, CAL National Guard.
In other words it was a very low production
military 11/2 ton ambulance.
Motto under DUI is SERVIANT ET SAVIANT.
That is that, I guess.
These folks were in Long Beach, CA in 1939.
Long Beach has a very nice Historical Society
which I've contacted.
So restoration can begin. Correct original
military color was glossy dark brown. Engine
is 95 hp flathead V-8.
Lots of work to do before I need to worry about stretchers and other
equipment.
I encourage all of you to try and find out your
vehicle's roots.
   Bravo List!
  Don Kenyon
