Well, in my experience,
propane engines:

Don't like cold weather, unless you have some sort of internal fuel heating
system. They tend to ice up and freeze at the regulator if not heated. Have
a little less power, I think about 20%. The oil stays clean a lot longer.
Valves can wear due to lack of lubricants in gasoline. Cleaner exhaust. No
fuel pump needed. It's a little harder to find fuel. And, of course..... You
can plumb in a stove, water heater and lanterns, making it a convenient
camping rig..............

Just some random thoughts from a random thinker.
