Anyone out there make a boom to fit the front end of a 5 ton or
deuce? Probably a zillion of them.... Is there a standard kit or plans
somewhere? What might one expect to be able to lift before tearing off
the front bumper in such a contraption?
I'm sorta figuring on using the shackle points for the base of an
A-frame and bring a pair of cables back over the cab to a pair of
supports and then back down over the back of the bed to the hitch
(flipped upside down) or something like that. Then use the front winch
to go up through a pully and down to the stuff I need to lift.
I expect that the military must have this sort of thing, but I've
never seen one. Maybe they are available somewhere as surplus? Thanks.
