In my M109 I have a similar system, what I used (Much bigger and more
powerful than what you want was a 250 watt rackmount amplifier fed from car
stereo, thru a switch pannel to route the audio to the field wire for
rallies or to three police siren/PA speakers mounted below the bumper and
the rear corners of the truck.

What would work for you is a PA amplifier made by a company called SPECO, I
can check my catalog tomorrow and give you the details of it, but it is
cheep and compact. (Runs on 12 volts, but a very light draw, either run off
one bat, or use a small 24-12 converter.) They also sell waterproof speakers
that can be painted OD and blend in.

I will get back to you with the details.

I've got a wild hair to add a set of external speakers and an amp to
the my Ferret. I've sat in traffic one too many times with some git
in his car who has far too much Bass for his own good. So, I figure a
bit of treble played from something more imposing than an Honda
Prelude is in order. Plus, it'd be useful for parades. I figure a bit
of Bagpipe music would be in order :-). Perhaps the Jolly Beggar Man,
Kalabakan, The Black Bear or The 24th Guards Brigade at Anzio.

Mind you I'm not looking for super audio quality but I don't want the
pipes to sound any more like a wailing cat than they have too.

Can anyone recommend a compact 24 volt amp and speakers with an audio
input? A PA function (hand Mic) would be useful as well. It'd need to
be small as there just isn't much room in the Ferret. Something
Military looking (or even military) would be ideal.
