They do have a cooler/preheater stock. I run synthetic fluid in mine and
have had no problems in 6 years.

I have been told by my trans guy and a few Motorpool sarge's that heat
and/or a bad modulator destroys the TH400. I put NOS trans in my
1009 along with a big cooler. If you tow or carry heavy loads be sure
to put in a cooler.
