We have factory-rebuilt solid-state power converters available for your MV.
These will safely provide a regulated 12-volt output (13.8 volt) when fed
with 24 volts from your truck. These handle 20 amp continuous duty, more
than enough to run any two-way radios, or other 12-volt accessories, such as
cell phone or flashlight rechargers, small air compressors, etc.
These are small, rugged and lightweight, and can be pretty much mounted
anywhere. Simple 2-wire hook up. List price is around $100. I've seen them
sold for $85. Our price $62.00 each. Cheaper by the dozen. No B/S 3-month
warranty from the manufacturer.
We are using these in our trucks, and they work great. No worries about
unbalanced battery draw, etc. If you are a dealer, put one in every truck
you sell, as an extra feature.
