M-37 fuel pump

I'm installing an NOS mechanical fuel pump on my original 230 in my M-37.
I bought the vehicle with an electric 24 volt pump.

Can I route the outputs of the two together to the carb? Would they both
have check valves in their output, or do I need to put check valves on the
output of both?
