Hi Aaron

According to David Doyles article in Military Vehicles Magazine, you need
the M31A2 kit for a M38A1 Jeep.

M4 for the M151

M31C for the MB/GPW

Can you let me know where the M31C is for sale at if you don't buy it?. I
have an MB.

Subject: [MV] MG for Jeep - Part 2

MV List,

Okay, so I found a good .30 cal (Thanks to this wonderful list), but when it
comes to mounts, I don't know which to get, since there seems to be two
options...

Pedestal Mount, Jeep.
M4 Jeep Pedestal Assembly, Includes Ten Inch Riser and two Support Brackets,
OD Green, 44" Tall. US GI, NOS Condition.

Pedestal Mount, Jeep.
M31C Jeep Pedestal Mount, with Support Cross Members, 37" tall, 65 pounds.
New Condition.

So which is correct for a '52 M38A1? I searched for hours through reference
material and website to no answer. Is one for a .30 and the other for a .50?
I though the mounting systems were interchangeable between the two calibers.
Maybe one of these mounts is for the MB/GPW?

...And the only source I found that is selling mounts, has NOS ones in
flawless condition at a high price. For my uses, I don't want a flawless
mount. nor do I want to spend $700 on a metal tube to hold up a gun. I'll
leave that for someone doing a flawless restoration. Anyone know where I can
get a used or 'good' condition MG mount?

Thanks,

Aaron Horrocks
