I don't see that they are a bad thing and I use my trucks in every day
life as much as anybody. All 5 tons have sprags although they shift by
air instead of linkage and they are considered to be fine. Several
times I have had each one of my trucks hitched to more than I should
have and spun all the wheels pulling both forward and backwards without
problems. I have driven one of my deuces about 10,000 miles on pavement
to shows and have never had to stop on the side on the road and jack up
a wheel and unwind it.
