Your symptoms seem to indicate that the problem appears as she warms up
- is that correct?
If so, you may wish to look at the coil and the condenser (if fitted
with points ignition).
I.e. if she starts playing up and you switch her off and then on again
soon, will she run OK for a while again, or is she ropey almost
immediately?
For what it is worth, you might want to make absolutely sure that your
choke cable is set up precisely as per the -20, although this is purely
a "whilst you are in there" observation as choke-problem symptoms would
be quite different anyway.
