This compressor was one of the better units used by Air Force fire protection. The new one is junk. This unit can not be used alone for breathing air. You need to attach a 3 or 4 stage filter system onto it. I am Deputy Fire Chief in an Air Guard unit in Pennsylvania. Our unit in the guards had the filter system attached to the top instead of lugging it around separtely.
Have your department contact a local rep that deals with thier SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus). They should be able to either get a filtration unit or find someone who sells them. One other thing is this unit only goes up to 3500psi if the department is using 2100psi cylinders it is ok. If they have the 4500psi cylinders you're out of luck. Another option is if it is not going to be mobile they could purchase a cascade system to store the air and use this compressor to fill the cascade system.

Ok, if I read the fedlog info correctly it will put out 3500 PSI.
But LOGOSA has no manuals listed, does the Air Force use another system?
And, would you be nuts to use it for SCBA?
