Deuce Axle ?

Greetings MV listers. I have noticed that after long highway drives in my
deuce tractor the rear axles spit out a bit of gear oil from the vents. I realize
that this means the vents work but why does it happen. I'm thinking the axles
just don't like to be spun too fast say over 55 as I have been doing. If
anybody has thoughts, shout. I am considering running lines up to a box higher on
the frame and putting the vents on the top of the box. Its really no problem
for me but the wife isn't too tolerant to the gear oil smell that lingers
with the truck for a long time.
Thanks,
Kenny
