20 years isn't that long...

Steering things back to MVs... how much have the basic MV's used by the US
military changes since 1983?

HMMWV was new then, but still basically the same vehicle it is today.
The M35 variants are still a mainstay.
The Abrams tank was newer... but other than computer system updates...
still the same basic tank.

I suspect 20 years from now the world of MVs won't be that much different
than today.

To stray off topic again:
Politically... 9/11 was a big event for the US... but I suspect 20 years
from now we'll still have to go to the polls to pick between a Republican
or a Democrat... and at the end of the day either canidate will still
answer to whoever foots the bill to get them elected.

IF we stay in Iraq and truly help establish strong democratic
institutions... I suspect the following 20 years could effect as big a
change for that country as 1946-66 did for Germany and Japan.

My .02
