Trouble starting M35A2

I just received a batch of deuces yesterday from GL. I'm trying to get the
first one running, and I'm having a bit of trouble. I've drained the secondary
and final filters of crud (there was only a tiny bit in the secondary, and
none in the final), bled the filters, and bled the injector lines. When I
crank the engine it catches quickly, but stops running after about a second.
I'm guessing that it's not getting enough fuel. The in-tank pump is working (I
unplugged the low air buzzer to hear it, and I also get flow from the filter
bleed valve), and the injection pump is doing something (I get fuel spurts at
the injectors when I crack open the lines). I checked the air filter; looks
reasonably clean, with no mice or bird nests. I didn't see signs of water or
oil in the oil or water.

Do you multifuel experts have any suggestions? I vaguely recall in past years
that folks have suggested whacking various parts of the injection pump, but
this is the first time I've had the problem myself, so I don't know the drill yet.

Thanks in advance for any help!
