I believe that these modified trucks are used off-road in the rock-crawling
sport. No DMV involvement, and no concern for the logical points which you
bring out, such as load capacity, etc.

I guess what really bothers me is that a Deuce is USEFUL. You can carry a
pickup in it, or boxes of goods, or a bunch of people dressed up for a
celebration. The vehicle in this thread can't. It can carry a bed. If you
put a bed of some sort in it then that bed can carry a pickup, or boxed
goods, or.....

But that's just my 02¢. I like different vehicles, but if I had the money
to modify a Deuce I'd rather rebuild it as Tom did his. Nothing like a '
sleeper ' going up a steep grade at 80 MPH. :}
