No, it is a variant of UNIX, and Linux is a branch off the UNIX family..
one which runs on X86 motherboards.
I have spoken to the MVPA a few times and we discussed computers and their
web site while doing the paperwork, and my impression was that most of them
are not able to host a site: as it's FreeBSD either someone there knows
computers or they have opted to host it elsewhere.
My only point was if it is being hosted by another company then wouldn't
that company have the responsibility to get the site back up in an hour or
two? Secure from the same hack ?
