Just about. The Brits had real scout cars with
real armor (vs the very optimistic protection on
the M3). However, the Brits were happy to use
them as command level trucks and classed them as
armored, 15cwt (hundredweight) trucks all the way
through '45 as I understand it.

So, if you want to use a White Scout car for
WWII, '44-45 ETO, dress it up like a Brit White
Scout car.
