Kenneth and Steve are correct. If two tires and wheels are mounted together,
on the same side as duals, with a different circumference, they will wear
out quicker. The taller tire tries to cover more ground, the shorter tire
tries to cover less ground. The two tires will work against each other,
grind on the pavement and wear out faster.

Here's the way you size up your tires assuming you have just 8 to deal with.

Measure rolling circumference of all 8 tires and mark that on the tire.
Remember to have equal inflation in all tires before measuring. Put the 2
tires
with the longest circumference on one side of an axle and the 2 tires with
the
shortest circumference on the opposite side of the same axle. Of the
remaining 4 tires pair up the two with the longest circumference on one side
of the
remaining axle and the last two, well you know where they go. This is the
best
you can equalize rolling output from each axle. This might cause unneccesary

wear on Detroit Lockers (disclaimer).
