With the deep water fording kit silly.

One tall stack that raises the air intake to
several feet above the cab and an exhaust that's
a similar length. However, a floating ball and
cage setup works quite nicely as on the ferrets
so extended the exhaust isn't really needed.

(perhaps I'm missing your point of asking why the
dumbass in the news story thought he could drive
partially submerged with out a fording kit?)
