While we're on the subject of the OE-10 non-detergent, every time I try to
order it from any supplier you care to name, I get them telling me it's the
same as some-such standard hydraulic oil (hydraulic oil as in..backhoes..not
any of the Dexron flavours.) I've got a few ancient quarts of the original
OE-10 non-detergent around at work, and that oil seems considerably thicker
than the 5 gallon pail of stuff they say is a direct cross according to
their Big Oil Book. Further on that, when I filled up the Allison in the
M75 with this suggested replacement oil, it leaked out of the output shaft
seals like so much baby oil.

Anyone have any ideas? Have you been able to say "OE-10 non-detergent" to
suppliers over the phone without getting the telltale,
"um...ahhh...well....I *think*..."?
