Mark, it's possible to be a depot repower with a date of 53. Does it have the
small front fenders. I should say the gas fenders which make the engine
compartment smaller. Take a look at the differetials again. On the side of the
pumpkin there's a diamond shaped plate. If these plates have the axle breather
than you know you have an older axle. If all 3 are like this then you probably
have an older truck. I think more of the M45 and M46 trucks with specialty
bodies were repowered with the multifuel than regular cargo trucks. Don't forget
to look for a tag on the trans and transfer case. The wheels are probably
dated too. 8 out of 10 wheels are circa 53 then you might have a 53. I doubt
that it is but these checks might help a bit.
