Replaced the tranny last weekend on our deuce. Bad 2nd/3rd syncro. Got a brand new rebuild for 350.00. Had the same experience as Jim. The new trans is quiet. Alot of sounds have gone away. Now, I will be able to concentrate and obsess on new noises. The swap took about 8 hours including moving the pto over to the new gearcase and making up new studs to hold the pto on.
