Lace-on seat cover advice

I am replacing the M37 drivers bottom cover and wanted some advice.

I replaced the horsehair padding and the padding above it with some polyester pads.

Concerning the lacing on of the seat cover what is the correct procedure?

The manual just says install and hook ropes over the lacing retainers.

I laced it so that the bottom seam of the cover is inline with the bottom edge of the springs.

Is this correct?
