Is it broke? I think not.

Let me weigh in (and as overweight as I am, do not take that term lightly)
on the issue of this forum as a mailing list or as a net based group.

I currently am a member of multiple newsletters, web based forums etc.
I own a M37 Planter and have membership in the Power Wagon Forums. I have
not been there in a while. Since I am not actively restroring the truck, I
fell out of the habit of checking in there. They probably think I bought a
Ford or something.

The Power Wagon forum is well run. Compared to some I am on at Yahoo Groups
it is a paragon of virtue. In the past week I have dodged eight virus laden
emails coming from the Yahoo Groups forum posters. How many have I gotten
from Mil Veh? Zip, nada, none. Nor any from the Power Wagon Forum, since I
only read that on line.

Is it a bother to go to the suggested links in poster's bulletins to see the
pictures of their large green objects? Oh no, not a bit. The price in my
time spent is trivial compared to the time I would waste on dodging things I
do not want to see that get sent to me.

99 percent of what I get from the Mil Veh mailing list I shall probably
never find useful. But I do find it entertaining. I say much I shall never
find useful, yet I drive a GMC 6.5 truck, which shares some commonality with
one of the green things mentioned herein. And I say to myself every day,
"You have plenty of large, and noisy hobbies. You do not need anything that
has more than two axles."

I keep saying that.......and reading the posts with an almost religeous
fervor. And see that how the list is, and works is minor compared to the
worth of the list. Go ahead, fill my mailbox with Ferrets, Dingos, M16s,
CUCVs, all of those things. Things I shall never have, but I can share the
feeling that ownership of one of them, or more than one of them is not a bad
thing.

Keep the list as it stands. It works well.
