Dash lights

Here is a simple way to improve the visibility of the gauges at night.
The instument panel has two covered light fixtures that illuminate the
gauges for night time viewing. I noticed that the bulbs are not deep enough
into the socket to give full brightness through the "windows" of the
instruments. The filament of the bulbs is on the wrong side of the dash
panel. By replacing the mounting screws for the light assemblies with longer
ones and adding a 3/16" spacer between the inside of the dash and the light
assy, the filament ends up almost entirely on the inside of the panel for
much better illumination. Try it, it worked for me.
Also, keep the dust off the "windows" (the slots behind the front panel) of
the gauges.
