Caleb,
I have a ww2 Hobart welder which is a similar bear...it's
very short, and narrow.
I just stuck on two of those orange-flag thingies from
the hardware store which I think are made for the back
of bicycles. Or maybe they're snow-sticks <g>..
Anyway, they're 1/4" fiberglass rod, 6' tall, and have an
orange triangle flag on top. I cut the rods to length so I
could stick 'em on the welder-frame horizontally, sticking
out to full truck-width. Now I can see something in the
mirror all the time, and have early warning of it going
astray...which it still does, of course! <g>
