Hmm... I didn't see a link to the law itself (just found it <g>), but I
thought this was about '86 ban that Bush Jr. recently renewed (or said he
would renew) and not the later, arbitrary and silly Assault Gun ban
(which was supported by Congress, of which the Republicans controlled the
House under Gingrich at the time IIRC). The '86 ban, and it was FAR more
reaching than anything Clinton and Congress did later. The Bush '86 ban
effectively banned anything and everything that was not already in the
country that was either full auto or a full auto type weapon. Much worse
than the original by FAR. You Class III guys out there know far more
about this than I do.
My point still stands... if you are a gun owner, don't trust the
Republicans any more than you do the Dems. One might be GENERALLY better
than the other, but when it really matters there is no way to tell which
side they will be on. They are politicians too.
